Where to drive from Zurich

Situated on the nearby Zürichberg (mountain), the Zoo Dolder boasts over 350 species (about 2500 animals in all), making it one of Europe's most important. Its location is stunning, with fantastic walks into the forest behind the grounds.

The Lindt and Sprüngli chocolate factory is mandatory for all sweet tooth fans. It's located a few kilometers south of the city centre and has a wonderful free museum (with free chocolate!). Not surprisingly it's popular and therefore subject to occasional closure.

Simply driving along Lake Zurich and admiring the fantastic Swiss country scenery is an exhilarating experience, and there are many small villages along the shoreline of Lake Zurich to stop in and stroll around.

Uetliberg is a popular excursion out of Zürich. It's a curious attraction based on the planets in our solar system - presented as an outdoors exhibition. The mountain ridge on which it's located offers spectacular views.
